Pictures of Nigeria Africa - Foreign media propaganda has not shown the true picture of Nigeria. Many reporters who report on Nigeria have been critical about the country. In fact, I am appalled at the lack of correct information by foreigners to Nigeria.

The Nigerian people are often portrayed as 419ers. One advance fee fraud forum online even suggested that Nigerians have a special school where they a trained on fraudulent activities. The pictures of Nigeria, whether poetic or photographic, often speak of Nigerian scam and then portray the country's peace loving people as scammers.

If that is what you have been told about Nigeria, you have not heard the truth about Nigeria.

Yes, it is true that some Nigerians have missed their way and have fallen to the allure of money. They have sold their soul to the devil. And as agents of the devil they have committed to vices like 419 or advance fee fraud, armed roberry, bank robbery, assassinations, and other unhealthy behaviour associated with children of the devil.

But that is only a snapshot of SOME Nigerians. Those are not true pictures of Nigeria people.

Here's some truth about Nigeria . . . facts about Nigeria for those who care to listen.

Nigeria is a West African country in search of true democracy. The country has had several military interventions or coup détact that produced military leaders called head of state. In effect, the country's democracy has witnessed several decades of military interventions that eventually give birth to a new democracy and then another intervention, and then a new democracy.

Nigerians refer to the rebirth of a new democracy after a period of military rule as a republic. So we have the first, second, and third republic.

Lagos use to be the capital city of Nigeria until it was moved to Abuja in the 90's. That not withstanding, Lagos is still bustling with activities because the companies situated in Lagos Nigeria during the period when Lagos was the capital are still here. Hence, Lagos is referred to as the commercial city of Nigeria.
