This estate was built by Buba Marwa the one time military Governor of Lagos State. However, it was renamed after MKO Abiola in memory of the man and what some call "a crucial and memorable aspect of the country's history".

At present, MKO Abiola Gardens seats pretty in the Alausa axis of Ikeja Lagos state capital.

Ikeja is a vibrant commercial centre that is host to a large number of estates like Jubilee estate, Awuse estate Opebi, and several other expensive estates built around the Ikeja area.

As you must have guessed, this estate is pretty expensive. And the proximity to the city centre is one key reason.
