Lagos Nigeria, child abuse - police rescues 6 year old girl

A young girl miss Chinemenem was this morning 2ND OCTOBER 2009 at about 9a.m rescued and taking to the Alade Police Station Somolu.

The little girl lives with one Mrs Ada Opadike at no 1 Eyiowuawi Street in Somolu area of Lagos State. The said Mrs Ada is a teacher in a private Nursery and Primnary School in Efon Alaye Street in Somolu.

The little girl it was reliably gathered was constantly abused by her guardian on a daily basis Hunger, torture and excessive corporal punishment was often inflictsd on the young lad, each morning before leaving for her place of work

Mrs Ada makes sure the little girl is locked up in her one room apartment lonely and hungry until she returns late in the evening.

Last Sunday she used hot pot on the lips of the poor girl for daring to eat a biscuit given to her by a co tenant celebrating her birthday.

Little Chinemenem looks emaciated and has scars all over her body.

This morning the police acting on a tip of stormed the house and met the poor girl locked, forced the door open and
took the innocent lad to the station.

MEANWHILE THE POLICE ARE YET TO ARREST MR AND MRS OPADIKE

SINCE THEY WERE NOT AROUND WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED.
