It depends on the architect to contact

Architect fees depend on the architect you contact and so does not have a standard amount.

When you contract an architect, both of you will agree the fee structure, when to pay the fees, and what extra services you should expect.

Bottom line.

Get a written document, a service level agreement, between you and the architect detailing the extent of services he will render for the fee you pay him.
